Circle Dock is a cool little gadget. And it is, of course, free. This little piece of software lets you create a wheel where you can place your favorite tools as shortcuts. In the Settings, you will find many options for the size of the wheel, its opacity, and more. There are also many different Skins available in case you would like to change the appearance of the wheel.

Even though the name tells the reader that the tool’s shape is that of a circle, it can actually be changed. You could choose to give the tool the appearance of an ellipse or a spiral. But, to be honest, I think the circle is simply the best look for this gadget.
Another little feature is to rotate the circle with the mouse wheel. This, of course, works only when the mouse pointer hovers over the gadget.
Why do I need this gadget?
You don’t need it. Quite frankly, I just posted this tool because it looks fantastic. The shortcuts on the wheel are no different from the other shortcuts on your windows screen. And rotating the wheel of Circle Dock to reach other shortcuts is no faster than just moving the mouse pointer a little. It just looks great.
One idea to make it practical would be to add shortcuts of a specific category to it. Maybe placing all your shortcuts to your favorite games on the wheel would be cool? Or all your work-related shortcuts? I think you can find some use for it. If you have a lot of shortcuts on your screen, the Circle Dock wheel will make it much easier to find your favorite tools. Just an idea. Other than that.. it still looks cool.
On the negative side
It looks like the tool is not being actively developed. The last update was made in October 2018. This could mean that this little gadget will disappear at some point. Let’s hope that the developer will change his mind and keep this tool alive.
