The Coronavirus Live Map by the Center for System Science and Engineering (CSSE) provides an overview of the statistics related to the coronavirus Covid-19. This virus was first discovered in Wuhan (Central China) and has since spread all over the world. Even though the virus causes only mild symptoms in most people who got infected, there is a possibility that the symptoms can progress to severe pneumonia, multiple-organ failure, and death. This means that you need to be aware of the facts, including what you can do to prevent getting the virus and what kind of measures are put in place by the authorities in your area. Please read about Covid-19 on the website of the WHO (World Health Organization) and this article on Wikipedia for more information about the coronavirus disease.
Working from Home
In many countries, people are asked to work from home, and maybe you are affected as well. This website provides some software that might help you (e.g., the free OpenOffice). Also, we have another website, l10nsoftware.com, with a lot of free software related to translation/localization. You may find something useful. However, it is also possible that you don’t find what you are looking for. In this case, it might be a good idea to come back once in a while because we intend to add more tools quickly.
Coronavirus mutates to Ransomware
Unfortunately, some people take advantage of this virus outbreak. If you own an Android smartphone or tablet please DO NOT INSTALL the “COVID-19 Tracker App” from the website coronavirusapp.site. After downloading the App a Ransomware will encrypt your device via a screen-lock attack. Your password to unlock your device will be changed and the scammers demand a payment of $100 within 48 hours to the specified Bitcoin account – otherwise, they would delete all contacts, pictures, and videos on your phone and publicly leak your social media accounts.
If you are affected, under no circumstances should you pay the money requested. A user on Reddit has already decrypted the code needed to unlock the system. To unlock your smartphone again, enter the code “4865083501” under “Enter Decryption Code“.
Anyone who wants to find out about the coronavirus should only consult official and reputable sources, like the Coronavirus Live Map we are referring to on this website.
Having fun at Home
Being forced to stay at home can be frustrating if you don’t know what to do to relax. We have a few free games on this website but we will add more as soon as possible. Besides, we will add other apps or services for those who prefer to listen to music or go to a nice museum. One that offers many great videos for many areas (movies, music videos, travel, documentaries, and much more) is YouTube.
