The free version of Evernote is an excellent tool for your project management. It is not only a tool to store just a few notes but rather a tool to store literally all your notes, ideas, schedules, project plans, to-do lists, etc. And it lets you create an endless list of notebooks, not just one. You can have a separate notebook for each of your projects and organize its content any way you like.

In your notebooks, you can store not just text but also pictures, links, and files, and even grab content from the web (with the Evernote Web Clipper). This basically means that you will have everything in one place, not scattered around in many places which can be easily forgotten or overlooked.

And if this is not enough then the fact that all content is synced to the cloud and accessible from literally all devices and the option for collaboration with others (up to 250 people) should be convincing enough to give this tool a try.

Everything in Evernote instantly syncs across any computer or phone you use. Start working on one device and continue on another without ever missing a beat.

Available for: Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android

A tool for collaboration

You might not immediately understand why this tool can be of help. Well, let’s say you are working for an LSP (Localization Service Provider). This LSP wants to implement a process, where one translator does the translation and another one the review. This would be the right way to do it anyway. As you might know, four eyes see more than two. For this process, the LSP could of course just send the files to the translator by email. The translator send sends the files to you for review and you send them back to the LSP.  If the files are small and there are only a few then this might be okay. But it can be a problem if many big files are involved. With Evernote, this whole process is easy if the files are synced on the computers of all parties involved.

The WebClipper grabs any content

The free WebClipper for Evernote is a great addition that lets you browse the web and store everything noteworthy directly to Evernote.

If you run a business then you probably use the web for numerous different things. You might read articles important for your business. You might schedule appointments with a web tool. Or maybe you plan your business trips online. However, the WebClipper lets you clip and store all the information you need into Evernote. From there they will then be available on all your mobile devices (if you installed Evernote Apps on them). This information can contain excerpts from articles, product pages, schedule of your appointments, confirmations, and itineraries for your trips, etc.

Available for: Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari

Finding what you’ve already found

(from NEAL CAVANAUGH)

There are over 1.4 billion websites with 140,000 more added every day. That’s a lot of URLs. It’s why Google handles 5.5 billion searches a day, and why so many of those searches return millions of results.

So finding the right information is tough. And once you’ve found it, you better not lose track of it. You might be thinking that’s what bookmarks are for. Fair enough. But is a bookmark all you need? If you’re looking for a photo you found on Google images a month ago, or that one paragraph from a long article in The New York Times, or a great deal you spotted on Amazon, a bookmark isn’t enough. Which bookmark is which? Why did you save it? What if the content of the page changed? What if the page isn’t there anymore? Face it: a bookmark is a sort of old school.

Evernote’s Web Clipper takes the idea of saving and using web resources to a higher level. Save exactly what you want and know exactly how to find it again. Isn’t that what the Internet was for in the first place? Web Clipper is fully integrated with your Evernote account and it’s compatible with all major browsers. With Web Clipper, Evernote becomes a search engine for your saved stuff.
