MailStore Home is a desktop application that lets you archive all your valuable emails. Once your emails are downloaded (archived) to your computer, you are provided with several options. A fast Search option lets you find specific emails. An Export option allows you to save your emails in several different formats in case you would like to upload them to a different email client. A Backup option lets you save a copy of your archive to USB or another hard drive. For safety, there is a Password option to protect your Mailstore Home archive. And the Administrative Tools are basic settings for the application’s behavior and some maintenance functions.
One more significant feature of MailStore Home is that you can reply to emails or forward them from within the application. For this purpose, the application will use the standard email application set up in your Windows Operating System.
Why do you need MailStore Home?
For many people, emails are an essential means of communication. No matter if you send or receive private emails to or from friends and family or if your emails are related to your business, you don’t want to lose them. Those emails can contain critical information. They can also include attachments, which can contain important information as well. And even though online email clients like Yahoo! Mail claim their servers are safe, there is always a possibility that something unforeseen will happen. Or maybe you run your own website with an attached email account at a hosting provider. These email accounts will be set up as either POP3 or IMAP accounts. Those accounts can get severely compromised. And then, you will be happy to have a backup of all your valuable emails. MailStore Home supports many online email services, all POP3 and IMAP accounts, and email clients such as Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook.
Recent Example of Email Account Failures
Not long ago, a well-known hosting provider started migrating all accounts stored on old HDD drives to much faster SSD drives. This is usually a smooth process. Many other hosting providers did that before without issues. However, in this case, something went wrong, and many customers ended up with a host of problems. They were not able to send or receive emails and could not even access any of those emails saved in their accounts. They lost all access to their emails for days and weeks, and with it, they temporarily lost access to all vital information saved in those emails. To avoid this, you can use MailStore Home to access your emails in your archive even if your email account is not working anymore.
