ThisIsWin11 gives you a tour of the new Windows 11 Operating System (OS). It also offers some additional features. At the same time, it is the 100th post on our website. I know, it’s not that important. So let’s talk about this free tool. Windows 11 was released on October 5, 5 days ago (see the Introduction of Win 11 from Microsoft). According to Microsoft, the distribution of its new operating system will take several months. The reason is that Windows runs on billions of computers, and even Microsoft’s servers cannot process all the updates at once.
Windows 11 is not for everyone
Not every Windows 10 system will be able to run Windows 11 because Microsoft has increased the hardware requirements:
- CPU: Dual 64-bit processor running at 1 GHz or higher
- RAM: 4 GByte
- Memory: 64 GByte
- GPU: Compatible with DirectX 12
- Firmware: UEFI with Secure Boot
- TPM: Trusted Platform Module version 2.0
- Display: 720p resolution and at least 9 inches
- Windows 11 Home: Microsoft account for setup
To check if you can update your system, you can use WhyNotWin11. This small free tool will show you precisely if an update is possible, and if not, what the problem is.
Back to ThisIsWin11
If you are one of the many people still waiting for Windows 11, you can use ThisIsWin11 to learn about new features and the new look. The developer of ThisIsWin11 has collected the most significant changes and created an interactive presentation. The tool provides information about different areas, such as the Start menu, Explorer, and Settings. For each area, you get a short description and a screenshot that shows how the area looks under Windows 11.
And if I already have Win 11?
If you are already running Windows 11, you can use ThisIsWin11 to adjust your system, remove unwanted apps (Bloatware), or install additional apps (e.g. 7-Zip, GIMP, or CCleaner).
