Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is a very realistic action and shooter game (MMO) from Ubisoft. The game takes place in Washington, D.C., and is the second part of a rather complicated story. In short, the player is a member of a group of agents called The Division. The task of these agents is to bring order back into a world destroyed by a smallpox pandemic. To do this, several enemy factions have to be eliminated, and the Acting President of the United States has to be found. In addition, there is information about an existing cure to the smallpox virus, which has to be retrieved from one of the villainous gangs out there. Is this game free?

I was a bit hesitant to post this game because it is not entirely free. However, I read many cool things about this game, and I saw the trailer below. And when I read that there is a free demo version available which can be played for 8 hours, I wanted to give it a try. Based on what I saw, I decided that the game is worth a spot on my website and that 8 hours is better than nothing.

What’s cool in this game?

The game plays in a 1:1 replica of the real Washington. While you complete your missions, you will explore Washington, D.C. From landmarks to neighborhoods to landscapes, the game environment is amazingly realistic. I also liked the fact that the game can be played with a keyboard and mouse as well as with a game controller. I liked the smooth handling of the game controller better. But I know that some hardcore gamers prefer the keyboard and mouse experience. For some help with the controls, please refer to this Ubisoft page or this article.

Requirements

The realistic environment requires a fast computer and at least 64 GByte of free memory on your hard drive (this means a long download time, even with a fast internet connection). For the gaming experience, a gaming computer would be useful, but I played on a standard All-in-One computer (Core i7 8th Gen.) just fine.
