Zoho Invoice, like other invoicing applications, also provides a free option but only allows you to invoice up to 5 customers! The interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to use. This service is probably the closest to FreshBooks (one of the best invoice generators) one can get.
Like other software of this kind, this application provides a secure cloud-based platform and allows small business owners to save time and hassles when dealing with all tasks related to invoicing.
Zoho Invoice seems to be the best alternative to FreshBooks because it provides a proper, reliable invoice and expense-tracking system. The free version limits you to five customers – click here for a more detailed review (this review is a bit outdated, but most information is still correct). Zoho Invoice lacks the time-tracking tools and timesheets that FreshBooks offers, but if you don’t need these features, then Zoho invoicing software might be sufficient.
Ecosystem for more features
Zoho provides an entire ecosystem of business tools and works well together with them. Payment and credit card processing services, such as PayPal or Stripe, can be integrated.
Should you decide to go with one of the paid options because you have an extensive customer list, then importing the list is easy. Just export the list from your other application into a spreadsheet and import it into Zoho Invoice.
Zoho is the only provider (as far as I know) who offers a completely inexpensive ecosystem of business tools in the form of modules. If you only need an invoicing software, then the application featured on this page might just be enough. But if you need more, then you might find it among the 40+ applications Zoho offers. If, for example, you need accounting software, then Zoho Books is available. However, most applications are not for free, and therefore, costs can add up quickly when adding modules.
